RELIABILITY CENTERED HYDRAULIC SERVICES

1. Condition based maintenance

Our reliability centred services can give you peace of mind, with improved component life, performance and early detection of faults and failures. Maintaining equipment in this way results in less downtime, saving you time and money. The three main condition based tests we offer are:
Slip Testing

Inefficient hydraulic systems can sometimes operate for long periods before symptoms like a high oil temperature alerts you that something is wrong. And of course, this loss in efficiency will be costing money, in the form of wasted energy and reduced production. However, regular pump and system slip testing can not only forewarn you of potential problems, but also allow you to be proactive with your approach to solving and preventing problems.

Our pump and system slip check service includes:

  • Pump efficiency test
  • System efficiency test
  • Peak pressure tests
  • Check pump case temperature
  • Vibration tests
  • Oil sample analysis & report
  • Check and report on filter and/or breather condition
  • Full verbal & written report
OIL & FILTRATION ANALYSIS

Particles accelerate wear of hydraulic components. Prevention requires a small investment in time, money and human resources. We can help by regular testing and examination of your hydraulic oil. Extending the life of your pumps and hydraulic system is our goal.

We can help and provide you with the tools necessary to achieve and maintain the recommended cleanliness and filtration levels.

  • Mobile filtration unit to quickly and efficiently clean dirty and/or water contaminated oil
  • Permanent offline filtration systems
  • Tank air breathers
  • System & component oil sample checks
Our services are fully flexible and can be tailored to suit your requirements. We operate on a 7-day basis, so visits can be scheduled outside normal production times or during holidays.

2. Troubleshooting

When your hydraulic systems and components fail, production times will be affected so you’ll need to act quickly to get the problem solved. Our field service technicians are ready to assist you in fault diagnosis and root cause analysis, selecting or supplying spares or replacement parts and repairing and/or upgrading your hydraulic equipment.

Our services will:

  • Maximise on-line time using a proactive programme of preventative maintenance.
  • Get you back on stream as soon as possible with minimal interruptions.
  • Maintain the full life that was designed into your hydraulic equipment so that productivity is maintained and operating costs reduced.

Our troubleshooting services are designed to help you and your maintenance engineers keep hydraulic equipment on stream and profitable.

3. Upgrades & Modernisation

As older equipment becomes obsolete or more expensive to produce, it may become more economical to consider using modern replacements. Upgrading parts will give reduced longterm costs with fewer breakdowns while increasing the performance and reliability of equipment.
Hydrapress can provide all the necessary information to help you make an informed descision, and once your decision is made, we will source the parts for you – saving you time and money. We help you gain confidence in your machinery and help it stay healthy.

We can exchange an old for new pump, and provide system & control upgrades.

Repair Services

4. Repairs: UK & International

We offer a fast response, on or off site, repair service for hydraulic pumps and valves. We’ll strip, clean, inspect, conduct failure analysis and report free of charge and usually within 48 hours. The cause-based report is supported with images.

Our aim is to help you achieve the designed life from your hydraulic equipment. We offer two, proven and tested methods for supporting your repair and PM strategies.

Site Repair

We can strip, inspect and overhaul your unit in your factory using original OEM parts. This procedure can be carried out as part of a planned preventive maintenance programme or in response to a pump failure. As well as getting your machine back into production, the emphasis is to also find and evaluate the root cause.

Factory Repair

You send your unit to our factory to be stripped, assessed, overhauled and tested. Turnaround depends on the availability of parts and workshop loading but we are flexible and respond accordingly in emergency situations.

All repairs have a 12-month warranty from the date of installation and a free oil sample analysis.

To support our cause analysis, we can also provide help with installation and commissioning.

5. Service Exchange

We can exchange your pump for a factory rebuilt unit and the exchanged unit can be shipped to you while the worn pump is still in use. Once exchanged, your pump is sent back to our workshop where it will be rebuilt to an “as new” condition ready for our exchange program.

  • Our service is generally cheaper and faster delivery than OEM
  • We provide a 12 month parts & labour warranty from the date of installation
  • We also assist with installation and commissioning (a benefit for some giving peace of mind)

Exchange units can be shipped in 1-2 days, repairs in 7-10 days. Only Oilgear professionals have the proprietary knowledge to accurately test and service Oilgear hydraulic and electronic components. We’ll even arrange the pickup and delivery to save you time and money.

We provide service exchange for Oilgear type ‘D’ & PVV pumps and VSM prefill valves.

6. Replacement Parts

Whether you need to replace existing equipment or replenish stocks, we can supply parts direct from stock or source direct from OEM’s to include:

  • The Oilgear Company
  • Bosch Rexroth
  • Volvo
  • Vickers
  • Parker

Testimonial

Banco Aluminium

We are thankful to Mr. Kevin Thomas of Hydrapress for his valuable inputs for the re-design and modification of the extrusion press hydraulics to suit the upgrades on our 1800 UST and 2500 UST presses. In addition to successful execution of these upgrades, he has significantly contributed in educating our maintenance team on important aspects of industrial hydraulics like maintaining the properties of hydraulic oil, settings and adjustments of variable displacement pumps, etc.

In view of his extensive knowledge on industrial hydraulics, we would recommend him for any type of hydraulic job like upgrades, maintenance and repairs.
